A critical illness protection plan will allow you to take the time you need to recover in the event of an unforeseen health condition, such as serious disease or illness. A typical critical illness policy will pay a lump sum benefit of $50,000 through your group plan and up to $25,000 as an individual policy. This type of insurance will maintain your finances and pay for any expenses related to your illness.
